Short version for 10/23: The Toyota side fell apart. All four Highlanders that missed yesterday missed again this morning on windows that returned every car in them, so Pride, Car Town and the two nobody ever named are off, and the Auto Vault Yukon went with them on its own second clean miss. The find is a 2016 Yukon XL Denali that has been sitting on CarPlug’s own page at 13,589 with 140k, which is $1,404 under their regular Denali at #30 with the same 6.2, the same leather and about eighteen more inches behind the third row. It is #29 now and the cheapest leather on the list. The Arlington Pilot at #9 turned out to be one car under two listings and the cheaper one is the live number, so it is down $700 to 16,215, and Madison took the $900 back off at #12 one day after putting it on, which is the third flip on that car this month. A 2015 Highlander in Arlington with 96,681 miles would have been the lowest mileage Toyota this list has seen, but the photo has a ten minutes approval guaranteed starburst over a Platinum Auto Sales sign, so it went straight to Gone.

Wes looked at the list on 9/13 and said one of the newer, lower mileage Pilots or the Toyota is the best bet, and that the only thing to worry about is service history, which on the Pilot 3.5 mostly means the timing belt around 105k, about $1,000. The 2019 EX-L at Ourisman Bethesda he had in mind has sold since, along with the Safford Mazda 2016, the two Spotsylvania cars, the Koons 2020, the Passport 2018, the R&Z Highlander, the 76k Car Hub car, the Sheehy 2015 EX, Supreme’s 2015 EX-L, the 85k car at Mercedes-Benz of Fredericksburg, the AutoNation Elite, the Harvest Touring and the 82k Touring at Ourisman Chantilly Kia. Twenty one Pilots are still here, eight of them under 100k. #1 is still the one to call first: leather, CarPlay, a franchise store five minutes from the house, eleventh day on that lot, 16,834 today after a $40 nudge, and the real car in the photo rather than a placeholder. Four of the top ten are franchise cars, which is the whole point, because at those stores the service history is a phone call rather than a hope. Madison took the $900 back off at #12 this morning, one day after putting it on, so that car has now sat at 17,979 and 17,079 twice each and the screen price there is worth nothing at all. The bigger change is that the Toyota side is down to three. The four Highlanders that missed yesterday all missed again on clean windows and are off, which leaves #18 and #19, both Limiteds, both leather, both under 100,000 miles, and #18 with a name, a phone number and a lot fifteen minutes up Route 1. They are still narrow at 59.3 in, so they stay flagged even here, and only the Pilots have CarPlay.
